Donald Sterling was banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million after making racist comments in private recordings. He then did a less than convincing job apologizing in his first public interview after the incident was made public. Had Sterling hired a smart public relations firm, and heeded their advice, the situation today might be a lot different.
